Licensing

The Bing Maps licensing page (http://www.microsoft.com/maps/product/licensing.aspx) states that:

Developers at all types of organizations can use the Bing Maps Platform for free, under the following conditions:

  • Use is on public-facing, non-password protected Web sites
  • Limit of 125,000 sessions or 500,000 transactions in a 12 month period

It would appear that this Bing Maps Winforms User Control contravenes those conditions.  Is this the case?

Whether or not it contravenes those conditions is up to the developer using the control. I merely provide a framework, or how to, regarding the use of Bing maps in a windows application. It is fairly easy to extend the control and supply a Microsoft provided license code in the calls that are being made to the Bing maps service. It does not say you may not use it in a windows application, but it does certainly imply it cannot be used for free.
